Validation/Verification Engineer, Staff Engineer

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive testing and characterization of high-speed analog integrated circuits in an R&D lab environment to validate SerDes PHY solutions.
• Review and debug silicon under test and support associated hardware systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Design and develop test boards and hardware solutions to facilitate robust test, debug, and characterization processes.
• Execute detailed characterization tests and prepare clear, actionable test reports for cross-functional teams.
• Automate test procedures using Python and leverage FPGA programming skills for custom test flow development.
• Collaborate with analog designers, hardware engineers, and firmware teams to refine silicon performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (BSEE) or equivalent technical field.
• 5+ years of industry experience in a related field.
• Strong analog IC circuit knowledge and hands-on experience with silicon validation.
• Expertise in debugging complex hardware systems using advanced lab equipment (oscilloscopes, BERTs, network analyzers).
• Proficiency in Python for test automation and data analysis.
• Working knowledge of FPGA programming (Verilog) and hardware development.
• Understanding of interface protocols such as PCI Express and Ethernet.
• Familiarity with NRZ and PAM4 encoding, as well as communication interfaces (JTAG, I2C, SPI).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with high-speed communication interface standards.
• Ability to interpret complex circuit behavior and explain limitations during validation.
