Validation Lead Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead validation activities for multi-megawatt wind turbine gearboxes and drivetrain systems within the Test & Prototype Center (TPC).
• Define complete validation plans based on customer requirements, design targets, and internal standards to ensure durability, performance, and safety.
• Plan, coordinate, and guide dedicated validation engineers and test resources using high-end drivetrain test benches.
• Act as the central point of contact for all validation-related activities, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Proactively drive escalations and maintain transparency regarding timing, budget, and technical results.
• Review final procedures and reports, aligning conclusions with design leaders to provide clear release recommendations.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Relevant working experience in a similar validation or engineering role.
• Strong people management skills and the ability to lead technical teams.
• Proven competence in project management within cross-functional environments.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Dutch is considered beneficial.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
• Strong technical and practical insight, with knowledge of gearbox design being a plus.
