Validation Engineer, Senior

Responsibilities

• Characterize analog blocks and perform PHY/Link Layer/Protocol compliance against industry standards such as PCIe, Ethernet, and UCIe
• Bring up silicon, debug issues, present test results, and generate validation reports
• Define test plans and develop test methodologies for various validation tasks
• Develop and standardize test scripts to automate test equipment and processes
• Determine equipment and accessories requirements for various testing scenarios
• Study signal integrity and power integrity for evaluation boards and silicon

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• 2+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, or integration experience (or Master's with 1+ year experience)
• Strong knowledge of specifications such as PCIe (Gen1 to Gen7), IEEE 100G CK, OIF 100G CEI, 224G, and UCIe
• Proficiency in programming languages including Python, Perl, Matlab, or C/C++
• Experience with SerDes architecture (NRZ, PAM4) and theory of operation (PLL, CDR, CTLE, FFE, DFE)
• Proficiency in automating test instruments such as Scopes, BERT, Logic Analyzers, VNA, and Multimeters

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with compliance software such as SIGTEST, SEASIM, or COM
• Experience in PCB design and understanding of signal integrity, insertion loss, return loss, and TDR
• Direct experience in SerDes related electrical validation
• Working experience with PCIe and Ethernet protocol layers
• Understanding of design blocks like MAC and PCS
• Experience in optical and die2die validation
• Experience with Mango Database, HTML, or JavaScript for data post-processing and analysis
