Validation Engineer, Electro-Optical Devices

Responsibilities

• Define figures of merits and validation plans for cryogenic electro-optical assemblies
• Design and build laboratory setups using light sources, detectors, switches, function generators, and oscilloscopes
• Develop software scripts to automate measurement setups and data feeding
• Perform measurements and provide detailed reports including expected yield indications
• Execute validation plans, including debugging and characterization of cryogenic electro-optical components
• Review and provide feedback to the electro-optical assembly design team
• Collaborate with design and experimental teams to implement best known methods

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or above in Engineering, Physics, or Material Science
• 3+ years of industry experience
• Experience with testing in cryogenic environments
• Experience with optical and electrical test equipment (optical power meters, lasers, OSA, oscilloscopes, AWG, VNA)
• Experience developing test methods, optimization, and tuning/calibration algorithms

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with single photon detectors
• Experience working with optical fibers and photonic integrated circuits
