UXO Technician II

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight and support for UXO and range clearance operations.
• Investigate and identify Munitions and Explosives of Concern (MEC) and Material Potentially Presenting an Explosive Hazard (MPPEH).
• Perform reconnaissance, classification, and on-site demilitarization of military munitions.
• Supervise personnel during range clearances to ensure safety and compliance.
• Locate subsurface UXO using military or civilian magnetometers.
• Execute the disposal of ammunition and explosives using electric or non-electric firing systems.
• Perform risk-hazard analysis and conduct maintenance on team equipment.
• Provide work direction to lower-level technicians as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 8 years of EOD/UXO experience, including military EOD or commercial UXO experience in munitions or range clearance.
• Graduate of the U.S. Naval School EOD.
• Compliance with DoD Explosive Safety Board (Technical Paper-18) requirements.
• Completion of 200 hours of training on MEC and MPPEH.
• Valid 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120).
• Ability to qualify for and maintain a US Government Secret security clearance (US citizenship required).
• Valid state-issued driver's license.
• Proficiency in common software applications and ability to operate material handling equipment like forklifts.

Preferred Qualifications

• Possession and maintenance of a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a hazardous materials (HAZMAT) endorsement.
