UX Designer

About the Company

A1 is building a proactive smart assistant for everyday users to bring intelligence to conversations, errands, organizing, and workflows. The mission is to create an AI-native experience that handles multi-step reasoning and real-world task completion with high reliability.

Responsibilities

• Own UX for A1's core app surfaces across iOS, Android, and web
• Design complete user flows for AI-assisted tasks, including intent capture, progress tracking, and error recovery
• Design how the app surfaces AI decision-making and user confirmation steps
• Map and design AI states such as loading, thinking, acting, stalling, and failing
• Work with product, engineering, and ML teams to translate requirements into design solutions
• Conduct usability research to identify user trust and engagement friction points
• Produce wireframes, user flows, and high-fidelity designs for engineering implementation
• Contribute to the design system and shared UX patterns for AI surfaces

Requirements

• Experience as a UX designer on consumer mobile or web apps
• Strong portfolio demonstrating user flow design and high-fidelity prototyping
• Proficiency in Figma
• Ability to design for asynchronous, non-deterministic, and context-dependent systems
• Understanding of user trust, control, feedback, and transparency in AI experiences
• Experience conducting user research and applying findings to design
• Ability to work in fast-moving teams with evolving product scope
• Strong judgment regarding usability, edge cases, and failure recovery flows
