About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide oversight, leadership, and guidance for the University Volunteer Ambulance Corps (UVAC)
- Manage daily medical and financial operations, licensure, and protocol compliance
- Mentor student leaders and coordinate event schedules and mutual aid agreements
- Support emergency preparedness and fire safety operations for Auxiliary Enterprises
- Review and implement life safety plans and coordinate emergency preparedness training
- Manage internal response procedures for emerging threats and environmental emergencies
- Serve on the UMaine Emergency Operations Committee (EOC) to support campus-wide public safety
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 5 years of professional experience (or equivalent combination)
- 5-7 years of experience as an EMT
- Current EMT, RN, or Paramedic license
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications
- Valid Maine driver's license
- NIMS certification (ICS 100, 200, 700)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications
- NIMS certification in ICS 300 and 400
- Experience with the Maine State Bridge electronic medical records system
- Experience in strategic planning and change management
