Utility Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform industrial coating, painting, sandblasting, and assembly tasks to support service center operations.
• Accurately measure and mix chemicals, including paint and urethane, using formula and percentage theory.
• Use precision measuring equipment such as viscosity cups, thickness gauges, and gloss gauges to ensure quality.
• Apply primers, pre-finishes, and finishing coats to pump and gearbox assemblies.
• Conduct visual inspections of completed components to ensure conformance to quality standards.
• Prepare finished products for shipping by applying protective coatings, identification tags, and blank covers.
• Maintain required inventory of supplies and ensure a clean, safe work environment.
• Operate forklifts and cranes as required for moving industrial components.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial coating role.
• General mechanical skills and proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Ability to use and read various types of precision measuring equipment.
• Proficiency in chemical mixing and understanding of coating processes.
• Experience operating forklifts and cranes.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform physical tasks such as squatting, kneeling, and bending.
• Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for sandblasting and chemical handling.
• Ability to work overtime on short notice as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working with industrial rotating equipment components.
