About the role
Responsibilities
- Identify and repair water distribution and wastewater collection system lines
- Install new customer service meters and taps
- Troubleshoot utility plumbing apertures including meters, piping, and valves
- Check wells and lift stations for ADEM regulatory compliance under supervision
- Conduct water and wastewater sampling
- Perform landscaping and general maintenance as required
- Assist other city departments and attend required training
- Work after hours, holidays, or on-call as necessary
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to read, write, and understand instructions
- Basic to intermediate math skills
- Ability to pass drug test and background check
Preferred Qualifications
- CDL license
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as backhoes and excavators
