Utility Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, chillers, HVAC equipment, and oil-free air compressors
• Troubleshoot equipment failures both at the service center and at various customer locations
• Set up and operate equipment independently or as part of a technical team
• Travel daily within the local area in a company vehicle to service customer sites
• Handle repairs and maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• 2+ years of experience working with diesel/natural gas generators and/or commercial HVAC equipment and chillers
• Ability to read and understand technical schematics
• Experience calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to lift or move objects typically weighing up to 50 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card based on customer requirements
