Utility Locate Technician

Responsibilities

• Receive and process work tickets via the Korweb system
• Read and interpret utility maps to identify underground utilities
• Utilize magnetic sensing equipment (RD7100) to detect utility locations
• Mark the path and type of utility lines using correct fluorescent paint colors
• Dig with a shovel as necessary to pinpoint underground utility locations
• Follow strict utility, state, and federal guidelines for line marking
• Provide digital records of work performed using company-issued mobile devices
• Adhere to all safety, quality, and operational procedures, including wearing required PPE
• Maintain assigned vehicles and report any equipment or vehicle issues immediately

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1+ years of related experience
• Ability to walk long distances consecutively, up to 3 miles
• Ability to obtain OQ Certifications within three months of hire
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs, crouching, and bending

Preferred Qualifications

• Related experience in a field operations environment
• Understanding of local codes and regulations
