Utility Foreman (Grid)

Responsibilities

• Supervise and perform all aspects of installation, maintenance, and testing of substation equipment
• Organize and lead emergency activities related to the restoration of substation equipment
• Provide field training to maintenance crews on various substation apparatus
• Assist crews with equipment testing, including Doble power factor, breaker speed analyzer, and battery tests
• Act as a professional point of contact for contractors, design groups, and customers
• Ensure strict compliance with Configuration Management and maintenance procedures
• Promote a safe work environment and enforce safe work behaviors among all assigned crews

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least 5 years of experience in the electric utility industry
• Certification and ability to perform substation switching
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TWIC Card
• Ability to obtain and maintain a CDL driver's license
• Must live within 30 miles of Gretna, LA to support craft at varying hours
• Must be available for 24-hour callouts and extended hours

Preferred Qualifications

• 5 to 10 years of specific experience in electrical substation maintenance or construction
