About the role
Responsibilities
- Implement and manage integrated vegetation management (IVM) plans across assigned transmission rights of way.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory obligations, including NERC Standard FAC 003.
- Perform quality control inspections on completed and in-progress work to ensure adherence to contract specifications.
- Manage annual budgets to prioritize work plans and maintain adequate contractor resource levels.
- Coordinate daily work plans for multiple contractor resources to ensure safety and productivity.
- Communicate vegetation maintenance objectives to internal stakeholders and external agencies (federal, state, and local).
- Conduct aerial inspections of transmission lines within the assigned territory.
- Participate in emergency restoration efforts and storm response, which may require working outside normal business hours.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry or a related field.
- ISA Certified Arborist certification (or ability to obtain within industry guidelines).
- Valid driver's license with at least one year of verifiable driving experience and a clean driving record.
- Ability to obtain an appropriate herbicide application license.
- Demonstrated knowledge of NERC Standard FAC 003.
- Ability to operate a company vehicle and perform emergency call-out responses.
Preferred Qualifications
- ISA Utility Specialist certification.
- Experience with utility integrated vegetation management and contractor management.
- Knowledge of distribution and transmission utility electrical systems.
- Familiarity with ANSI Z-133 and A-300 standards.
- State Registered Forester license.
- Proficiency with GIS/GPS applications and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish.
