About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide mechanical engineering support for utilities troubleshooting, equipment improvement, and Process Safety Management (PSM) activities
- Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) for equipment failures
- Provide engineering expertise for project design to ensure compliance with specifications and engineering standards
- Collaborate with the mechanical integrity and quality assurance (MIQA) lead to implement best practices
- Develop equipment maintenance plans, including predictive preventative maintenance (PPM) procedures
- Lead PSM criticality assessment processes to manage MIQA efforts and identify critical spare parts
- Analyze equipment trends and historical data to recommend improvements and optimize life cycle costs
- Participate in maintenance and reliability networks to share best practices and learnings
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an ABET accredited institution in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing role (internships or co-ops considered)
- Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to diagnose, troubleshoot, and solve complex problems
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple time-sensitive projects
- Strong initiative, self-motivation, and ability to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within the chemical industry
- Familiarity with maintenance methodologies such as TPM, OEE, or Equipment Life Cycle Cost Analysis
- Understanding of condition-based maintenance technologies (Vibration Analysis, Oil Analysis, Infrared thermography, etc.)
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in fixed and rotating equipment repair
- Proficiency with SAP
