About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide technical and administrative leadership to day shift staff supporting plant utilities, clean utilities, HVAC, and electrical systems.
- Manage and monitor a robust utility system maintenance program including preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
- Ensure all staff are trained and comply with safety and GMP standards and procedures.
- Oversee and execute complex facilities, utilities, and maintenance-related initiatives and small projects.
- Analyze and review engineering, construction, and maintenance cost forecasts against scope.
- Maintain and improve plant capability and equipment reliability in partnership with engineering leadership.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) for maintenance performance.
- Work cross-functionally with Engineering, EHS, Quality, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing teams.
Requirements
- Experience in Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance (requirements vary by degree: 12 years for HS/GED, 10 years for Associate, 5 years for Bachelor, 3 years for Master, or Doctorate).
- Proven experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, or programs.
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in engineering or utility operations within biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or highly regulated environments.
- Extensive knowledge of electro-mechanical, fluid, and gas equipment and systems.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance management, utilities operations programs, and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Demonstrated ability to apply analytical skills to evaluate and interpret complex problems.
- Proven skill in goal setting and driving continuous improvement through monitoring key metrics.
