About the role
Responsibilities
- Design and develop utility systems, including detailed engineering plans and cost estimations
- Supervise the operation and maintenance of utility systems and implement preventive maintenance programs
- Manage utility infrastructure projects, ensuring completion within scope, budget, and timelines
- Ensure regulatory compliance by preparing required documentation and updating systems to meet evolving standards
- Monitor utility usage to implement energy-saving technologies and track energy efficiency performance indicators
- Implement safety protocols, conduct regular inspections, and train personnel on safety and emergency procedures
- Provide technical support to facility management and recommend technical improvements and innovations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, civil engineering, or a related field
- 3-5 years of utility engineering experience within a manufacturing environment
- Active membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
- Bilingualism in French and English (written and spoken) is required
- Strong knowledge of CSA, ULC, NFPA 70, and OSHA standards
- Experience in utility system supervision and facility management preferred

- Excellent analytical and complex problem-solving skills related to mechanical and utility systems
- High level of professional rigor and attention to detail for producing compliant plans and calculations
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
