User Experience Designer

Responsibilities

• Analyze and document client and business requirements through a user-centered lens
• Plan and conduct user research activities, including interviews, surveys, and workshops
• Synthesize research using personas, journey maps, and process maps to define user needs
• Design wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes to communicate design solutions
• Conduct usability testing to validate and refine design decisions
• Perform accessibility testing to ensure compliance with standards and support inclusive design
• Iterate on designs based on technical constraints and evolving requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or an acceptable combination of equivalent experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience designing interactive web-based enterprise applications
• Minimum 3 years of experience in user research, usability testing, and heuristic evaluations
• Proficiency with design tools including Figma and Optimal Workshop
• Experience with accessibility tools such as Voiceover, NVDA, JAWS, or Axe
• Strong skills in wireframing, prototyping, and responsive design
• Familiarity with business process mapping tools like Visio or Lucidchart
• Excellent communication skills to translate design requirements for developers

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of student systems and higher education business processes
• Experience with Azure DevOps or other task management tools
• Familiarity with SharePoint
• Understanding of Agile development practices
• Project coordination experience
