US Customs Operations Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day US import and export customs activities and operational management.
• Provide expert customs guidance to cross-functional business partners.
• Lead issue resolution and maintain direct communication with government agencies and key stakeholders.
• Oversee daily and yearly Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations, including admissions, transfers, and board reporting.
• Support the rollout of new FTZs by developing operational standards, procedures, and training.
• Conduct site tours and training for FTZ manufacturing sites and host Customs for annual compliance reviews.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with Customs Brokers, CBP, and international cross-functional teams.
• Revitalize standard operating procedures for all FTZs, covering inventory systems and record retention.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Minimum of five years of experience in customs brokerage, import/export operations, or compliance.
• Working knowledge of government agencies and regulations relevant to pharmaceutical imports, including CBP, FDA, USDA, CDC, DEA, DOT, IATA, and FWS.

Preferred Qualifications

• Valid Customs Broker License.
• Direct experience with Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations.
