About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of a team of investigators reviewing automated alerts from the FCCM transaction monitoring platform.
- Ensure investigations are conducted accurately, thoroughly, and in alignment with internal quality expectations and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate case summaries, monitor case ageing, and provide coaching or training to enhance team capability.
- Review Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and serve as a voting member of the Barclays NY Suspicious Activity Report Review Committee (SARRC).
- Identify trends and opportunities to improve processes through the monitoring and analysis of operational data and performance metrics.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to support business operations and ensure alignment with SLAs.
- Manage and mitigate risks through assessment in support of the control and governance agenda.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of AML Compliance and the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
- Proven experience in financial crime investigations.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including oversight of team performance, coaching, and staff development.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex transactional behaviors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry-recognized credentials such as CAMS, CFE, or a JD.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and supporting software.
- Broad understanding of correspondent banking and familiarity with financial crime risks, red flags, and typologies.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities for engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
