Upper School Science Teacher

Responsibilities

• Teach a full-time load of five science classes and guide an advisory group
• Develop and implement rigorous curriculum and assessment strategies consistent with IB standards
• Differentiate instruction and assessment to meet the diverse needs of all students
• Maintain accurate grades using Standards-Based Grading and provide constructive feedback to families
• Utilize learning management systems and instructional technology to enhance lessons
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment that encourages intellectual risk-taking
• Participate in school-wide events, faculty meetings, and professional development opportunities
• Manage classroom behavior using fair, consistent, and clearly articulated standards

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Education
• Proven experience in curriculum development and assessment
• Proficiency in integrating instructional technology into the classroom
• Highly developed written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
• Strong organizational skills, including lesson planning and unit implementation
• Ability to monitor student progress and use data to inform instruction
• Commitment to the school’s mission, core values, and anti-bias/anti-racism work

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching IB Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Environmental Science)
• 3+ years of teaching experience in a high-performing school environment
