Upper School Science Teacher: Chemistry

Responsibilities

• Teach four sections of Upper School Chemistry, designing engaging laboratory and classroom experiences.
• Develop and execute lesson plans that encourage critical thinking, inquiry, and independent scientific thought.
• Serve as an advisor to a group of Upper School students, supporting their personal and academic growth.
• Partner with colleagues to align curriculum and share instructional insights through departmental meetings.
• Contribute to the school community by sponsoring clubs, coaching athletics, or participating in extracurricular activities.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and departmental goals.

Requirements

• Proven teaching experience in chemistry within a high school setting.
• Ability and willingness to teach advanced, AP-level coursework.
• Proficiency with educational technology and its application in the classroom.
• Strong classroom management skills and a genuine appreciation for the developmental milestones of high school students.
• Commitment to professional development and collaborative teamwork.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field.
• Experience in curriculum development and instructional design.
