Upper School Health Teacher

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a comprehensive health education curriculum covering nutrition, mental health, substance abuse prevention, and sexual health
• Deliver engaging lessons using various teaching methods including discussions, group activities, and multimedia resources
• Foster critical thinking by helping students evaluate credible health information and develop decision-making skills
• Support social-emotional learning by addressing stress management, self-esteem, and coping strategies
• Create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental learning environment for discussing wellness topics
• Assess student learning through various quizzes, projects, and assessments
• Participate in school-wide events, faculty meetings, and assigned school duties
• Utilize school learning management and student information systems effectively

Requirements

• Background, knowledge, and experience as a health educator
• Previous experience working with Middle and High School level students
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Commitment to the school’s mission, core values, and inclusion statement

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in health education or a related field
