Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Chief Pilot

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Remote Pilot in Command (RPIC) or Visual Observer responsible for flight planning, execution, and risk management
• Conduct pre-flight planning including weather analysis, NOTAMs, and airspace coordination
• Perform drone pre-flight inspections and evaluate environments for obstructions and payload suitability
• Execute UAS photogrammetric mapping and advanced sensor mapping missions
• Collect, handle, and process UAS data, ground surveys, and design documents
• Perform equipment testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of UAS and sensors
• Document mission reports, maintenance logbooks, and inventory of spares
• Conduct ground control surveys using RTK/PPK GPS survey equipment

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in aeronautics, engineering, computer science, environmental science, or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years of UAS piloting experience
• Current FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to travel as needed to transport equipment and conduct missions
• Strong technical capacity to master multiple software packages and hardware workflows

Preferred Qualifications

• Current FAA Second Class Medical Certificate
• Experience using GPS and GPS RTK field collection equipment and processing software
• Applied knowledge of surveying references such as coordinate systems, projections, and datums
• Experience with geospatial mapping software including ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Pix4D, or Drone2Map
