UNIX Line Manager

Responsibilities

• Act as the Line Manager for UNIX/Linux and cloud engineers, overseeing performance management, career development, and succession planning.
• Own end-to-end operations for UNIX/Linux platforms across on-prem, private cloud (OpenShift/OpenStack), and public cloud environments.
• Lead incident response for cloud-based outages and complex hybrid infrastructure failures.
• Drive a culture of automation, reliability, and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
• Manage change, incident, problem, and availability management processes across hybrid infrastructure.
• Ensure the availability, performance, capacity, and resilience of cloud-hosted workloads.
• Manage cloud vendors, managed service providers, and platform support contracts.

Requirements

• Proven people-management experience within a 24x7 operations environment.
• Advanced hands-on expertise in administering at least two of the following: RHEL, SUSE, AIX, or Solaris.
• Strong experience with Red Hat OpenShift, OpenStack, or OCI.
• Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, including compute, storage, networking, and Cloud IAM.
• Strong grasp of ITIL processes and cloud operational best practices.
• Proficiency in automation and cloud security models.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead during crises.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with multi-cloud environments.
• Exposure to cloud migration strategies such as rehost, re-platform, and refactor.
• Understanding of cloud cost management and optimization.
