University Law Enforcement Officer 3

Responsibilities

• Detain and arrest offenders, complete prisoner processing, and maintain/transport persons in custody
• Conduct structured patrols, investigate suspicious activity, and perform legally authorized searches
• Execute investigations, establish and protect crime scenes, and collect/process evidence
• Write detailed reports, take field notes, and prepare criminal case paperwork
• Engage in community-oriented policing, public speaking, and problem-solving initiatives
• Respond to emergencies, administer first aid, and maintain proficiency with firearms
• Perform duties in various weather conditions and across rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Current OPOTA certification as a Peace Officer in the State of Ohio
• At least three (3) years of documented service with an OPOTA-certified law enforcement agency
• Valid state-issued driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Ability to pass a physical agility assessment, background investigation, polygraph, and medical examination
