University Chaplain

Responsibilities

• Serve as the canonical chaplain and rector of Madonna della Strada Chapel
• Oversee the University’s Jesuit Catholic mission and identity efforts with internal and external constituencies
• Provide pastoral outreach and care to students through prayer leadership, retreats, and spiritual direction
• Participate as a member of the leadership team for the Division of Mission Integration
• Act as a liaison between the University and the Jesuit community regarding mission integration
• Assist in promoting the Catholic intellectual tradition, social teaching, and Ignatian spirituality
• Serve on the Mission and Culture Committee and the Jesuit Recruitment Committee
• Manage all sacramental record keeping in coordination with the Office Operations and Hospitality Manager

Requirements

• Master’s degree in theology or a social science-related area
• Two years of ministry experience
• Must be a priest of the Society of Jesus
• Validly ordained Roman Catholic priest in good standing

• Accomplished leader with experience in Catholic and Jesuit higher education
• Strong work ethic and a deep spiritual life
• Diplomatic and collaborative partner capable of working with diverse groups
• Effective problem solver and person of wisdom capable of providing counsel to University leadership
