Universal Banker I

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional service by greeting members and assisting with financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments.
• Open and maintain consumer and business membership accounts while ensuring compliance with credit union policies.
• Identify member financial needs through consultative questioning and recommend appropriate products such as checking, savings, IRAs, and CDs.
• Process loan applications, notify members of decisions, and manage the signing of loan documentation.
• Maintain accurate balancing records and perform branch operational tasks including ATM balancing and vault teller duties.
• Educate members on the full range of credit union services and the benefits of membership.
• Document all member interactions and follow-up needs within the IRM system.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in a financial branch environment, the financial industry, or a retail sales environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with members and team members.
• Ability to perform mathematical functions and interpret financial information such as credit scores and interest rates.
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, including credit, drug, and criminal background screens.
• Availability to work a Saturday rotation schedule and provide coverage at other branches when necessary.
