Universal Banker I

Responsibilities

• Greet members warmly and provide exceptional service in person, over the phone, or digitally.
• Process financial transactions including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, and loan/credit card payments.
• Open and manage Consumer and Business Membership accounts.
• Assess member financial needs through consultative questioning to recommend appropriate products like checking, savings, IRAs, and CDs.
• Take a consultative approach to lending by identifying suitable loan products, including personal, auto, and mortgage loans.
• Process loan applications, notify members of decisions, and manage necessary documentation.
• Maintain accurate balancing records and comply with all Credit Union policies, federal, state, and local laws.
• Utilize branch technology including ATMs, Cash Recyclers, and ITMs to assist members.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of experience in a financial branch environment, financial industry, or retail sales.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to communicate effectively with members and colleagues in both written and verbal formats.
• Ability to perform mathematical functions and interpret financial information such as credit scores and interest rates.
• Ability to pass a background check, including credit, drug, and criminal background screens.
• Availability to work a Saturday rotation schedule and provide coverage at other branches when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience with the loan application process and internal operating procedures.
• Notary Public authorization.
