Universal Banker I

Responsibilities

• Greet members and provide exceptional service through account openings, financial transactions, and problem resolution.
• Process various financial transactions including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, and loan/credit card payments.
• Maintain accurate balancing records in accordance with teller standards and manage vault/ATM duties.
• Assess member financial needs through consultative questioning to recommend appropriate products like checking, savings, IRAs, and CDs.
• Process loan applications, notify members of decisions, and manage the signing of loan documentation.
• Educate members on credit union services and the benefits of membership.
• Document all member interactions and follow-up needs within the IRM system.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with federal, state, and local laws.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in a financial branch environment, financial industry, or retail sales.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to communicate effectively with members and staff in both written and verbal formats.
• Strong mathematical skills and the ability to interpret financial information such as credit scores and interest rates.
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, including credit, drug screen, and criminal background.
• Flexibility to provide coverage at other branches and participate in a Saturday rotation schedule.
