About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage reception desk functions by providing a warm welcome and farewell to all patients, guests, and visitors.
- Provide clerical and administrative support, including computer order entry for bed transfers, discharges, and physician consults.
- Act as a liaison between patients and clinical staff members to communicate needs and enhance the patient experience.
- Handle telephone reception by answering department calls promptly and professionally.
- Assist the clinical director with personnel records, tracking certifications, and non-clinical performance improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate unit supplies and maintenance requests to ensure an orderly environment.
- Prepare miscellaneous paper charts for Health Information Management scanning and maintain accurate daily census documentation.
- Answer patient call lights and communicate urgent needs to the care team.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent time management and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to operate general office equipment such as computers, printers, scanners, and telephones.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting.
- Experience in a customer service role.
