About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to a team of Air Traffic Controllers, Flight Service Specialists, and Supervisors.
- Oversee air traffic operations to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance within a designated scope.
- Foster a culture of engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Support recruitment, training, and development initiatives to ensure team success.
- Implement new technologies, procedures, and programs while guiding the team through change.
- Act as a key liaison between NAV CANADA and stakeholders, including airport operators, regulatory bodies, and union representatives.
- Develop and manage budgets, staffing plans, and operational forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with fatigue risk management and safety protocols.
Requirements
- Successful completion of secondary school.
- At least 3 years of leadership experience managing a diverse team, preferably in a unionized or operational environment.
- Demonstrated experience in managing a budget and related financial processes.
- Solid understanding of working within an operational environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate and influence at various levels.
- Proven ability to motivate, mentor, and develop professionals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Human Resources and Labour Relations.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills in fast-paced settings.
