About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to a team of Air Traffic Controllers and Supervisors
- Oversee air traffic operations to ensure safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance
- Foster a culture of engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Support recruitment, training, and development initiatives for the unit
- Implement new technologies and procedures while guiding the team through operational changes
- Develop and manage budgets, staffing plans, and operational forecasts
- Act as a liaison between NAV CANADA and stakeholders, including airport operators and union representatives
- Ensure compliance with fatigue risk management and safety protocols
Requirements
- Successful completion of secondary school
- At least 3 years of leadership experience managing a diverse team, preferably in a unionized or operational environment
- Demonstrated experience in managing a budget and related financial processes
- Solid understanding of working within an operational environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence and collaborate at various levels
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Human Resources and Labour Relations
- Proven ability to manage complex initiatives and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
