About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to a team of Air Traffic Controllers and Supervisors
  • Oversee air traffic operations to ensure safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance
  • Foster a culture of engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Support recruitment, training, and development initiatives for the unit
  • Implement new technologies and procedures while guiding the team through operational changes
  • Develop and manage budgets, staffing plans, and operational forecasts
  • Act as a liaison between NAV CANADA and stakeholders, including airport operators and union representatives
  • Ensure compliance with fatigue risk management and safety protocols

Requirements

  • Successful completion of secondary school
  • At least 3 years of leadership experience managing a diverse team, preferably in a unionized or operational environment
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a budget and related financial processes
  • Solid understanding of working within an operational environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence and collaborate at various levels

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Human Resources and Labour Relations
  • Proven ability to manage complex initiatives and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
