Unit Head-General Merchandise

Responsibilities

• Oversee the General Merchandise commercial team, driving sales, margin, and inventory optimization.
• Develop and implement strategic plans, SOPs, and work plans at the division and category levels.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and ensure proper product positioning.
• Manage vendor and supplier relationships, including contract negotiations and payment tracking.
• Execute product assortment strategies, brand management, and promotional guidelines.
• Monitor stock levels, replenishment orders, and product movement to prevent overstock and wastage.
• Prepare yearly Profit and Loss (P&L) statements by category to maintain optimal performance.
• Lead and develop the team through recruitment, training, coaching, and performance evaluations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in a related field within retail or commercial management.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
• Proven experience in sales management, vendor negotiation, and category performance review.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a diverse team.
