Unexploded Ordnance Technician III

Responsibilities

• Perform reconnaissance and classification of UXO, including missiles, bombs, projectiles, grenades, and land mines
• Locate subsurface UXO using magnetometers and perform excavation via manual or mechanical means
• Operate motor vehicles for transporting UXO and prepare safe holding areas and disposal sites
• Prepare electric, non-electric, and detonating cord firing systems for disposal operations
• Dispose of UXO and explosives through burning or detonation
• Inspect salvage UXO-related material and use radiographic (x-ray) equipment
• Perform emergency leak seal and packaging of chemical warfare material

Requirements

• 6-8 years of related experience
• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to maintain a valid driver's license
• Must be eligible to obtain a Secret security clearance (requires US Citizenship)
