About the role
Responsibilities
- Reconnoiter and classify UXO and Discarded Military Munitions (DMM), including projectiles, rockets, land mines, and grenades.
- Perform clearance sweep personnel functions and excavate subsurface UXO and DMM.
- Move and consolidate UXO and DMM within Munitions Response Sites (MRS) or Munitions Response Areas (MRA).
- Transport demolition materials and UXO that have been deemed safe for transport over public traffic routes.
- Prepare electric and non-electric firing systems for demilitarization operations.
- Assist in inspections of materials potentially presenting explosive hazards and construct UXO-related protective works.
Requirements
- Graduate of a qualified Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) school or a qualified UXO school per DDESB TP18.
- Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification (IAW 29 CFR 1910.120).
- Current 29 CFR 1910.120 HAZWOPER Physical.
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to travel outside the US and work away from primary locations.
- Ability to work outside normal hours at short notice based on workload.
- Specific vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
