Underwriting Specialist

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and manage a portfolio of Umbrella and Excess Liability accounts to drive profitability and growth
• Negotiate pricing, participation, and terms and conditions with brokers and producers
• Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with brokers and clients within the territory
• Act as a technical lead and training resource for Underwriters and Senior Underwriters
• Manage new and renewal accounts in alignment with LoB governance frameworks and underwriting guidelines
• Proactively drive involvement of functional areas such as Claims, Operations, and Risk Management
• Manage complex referrals and re-underwrite complex business as appropriate

Requirements

• 4+ years of underwriting experience specifically in Umbrella and Excess Liability
• Expert understanding of Liability products and portfolio management
• Established and recognized relationships with brokers at a peer group level
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and risk assessment skills
• Ability to manage multiple accounts and processes to meet strict deadlines
• Experience working within a complex, global matrix organization

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Economics, Finance, Insurance Management, or Business Administration
• Completion of professional insurance qualifications
