Underwriting Analyst

Responsibilities

• Support the HUD/FHA underwriting team by completing prospective loan narratives and updating financial models
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including rent rolls, budgets, and operating statements
• Perform in-person property and site inspections and complete lease audits
• Conduct market research using tools like CoStar to evaluate comparable properties and local trends
• Collaborate with underwriting, production, and closing teams to manage deal timelines
• Coordinate and compile Loan Committee packages and HUD application submissions
• Evaluate the strengths, weaknesses, and mitigants of prospective multifamily loans

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
• Ability to review and analyze complex financial documents
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, with a preference for advanced Excel functions
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to travel domestically on a monthly basis
• Capacity to work on-site in Minneapolis, MN

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with HUD/FHA or GSE/Fannie Mae DUS underwriting
• Foundational understanding of Commercial Real Estate financing through coursework or internships
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple transactions under demanding deadlines
