Underwriter, Property

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and underwrite property insurance risks, including conducting risk assessments, analyzing data, and determining coverage and pricing.
• Collaborate with brokers and clients to gather information, clarify requirements, and negotiate terms and conditions.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients and brokers to drive new business opportunities and build a strong book of business.
• Partner with cross-functional teams, such as claims, risk engineering, and legal, to manage risks and optimize business outcomes.
• Provide excellent customer service by promptly responding to inquiries and resolving issues professionally.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated on industry best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in property underwriting within the Canadian market.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian insurance regulations and current market trends.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in the French language is considered a strong asset.
