Underwriter

Responsibilities

• Achieve income, profit, and expense targets by managing regional Key Performer Indicators.
• Deliver efficient case underwriting services to brokers through regular on-site development.
• Enhance company presence by establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key broker directors and staff.
• Utilize strong negotiation skills to aid conversion and strengthen broker relationships.
• Provide technical and commercial market intelligence to the Regional Director and wider team.
• Collaborate with internal departments, including claims and survey teams, to support business objectives.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in underwriting.
• Extensive experience within the Commercial Insurance industry.
• Proven track record of developing and maintaining broker relationships.
• Strong risk perception and risk selection skills, including accurate pricing.
• Excellent negotiation, selling, and influencing skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a matrix organization.
• Full clean driving licence.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years of New Business Underwriting experience.
• Minimum A-level standard of education.
• Progress towards professional certification (ACII).
