Underground Maintenance Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Perform emergency and preventive maintenance, including electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting, on all production and support equipment
• Conduct preventive maintenance tasks such as greasing, fluid checks, and oil and filter changes
• Perform permissibility testing
• Execute welding, acetylene torch cutting repair, and mechanical fabricating
• Splice equipment cables, wire belt drives, and starter boxes
• Maintain and repair underground mining equipment and machinery

Requirements

• Experienced Underground Miner Certification
• Federal and Indiana State Electrical Certification
• Five years of experience as an underground Mechanic
• Familiarity with Joy 14CM15 Miners, Fletcher Roof Ranger II Roof Bolters, and VFD Shuttle Cars
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic prints
• Ability to lift 50 to 100 pounds regularly
• Willingness to work weekends and rotating shifts as necessary
