About the role
Responsibilities
- Advise students on degree requirements, academic policies, curriculum planning, registration, and graduation requirements
- Develop personalized degree plans and monitor student progress to support timely degree completion
- Conduct proactive outreach via phone, email, text, and virtual meetings to promote student engagement and retention
- Support students facing academic challenges by developing success plans and connecting them with campus resources
- Serve as a liaison between students and university departments such as Financial Aid, the Registrar, and Military and Veteran Affairs
- Maintain accurate student records and documentation within university systems
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to address student concerns and support positive academic outcomes
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Student Affairs, Higher Education, or a related field
- 1-3 years of experience in academic advising, student services, higher education, or counseling
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and a diverse caseload of students
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in student success, retention, or enrollment services
- Familiarity with student information systems (SIS), learning management systems (LMS), or CRM platforms
- Experience working with adult learners, online students, or military-affiliated populations
