UMEC Program Manager

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, and implement student programming focused on intercultural and social justice education.
• Manage strategic planning for annual and series-based programs, including securing guest speakers and managing logistics such as budgeting and catering.
• Design and implement strategic communication and outreach plans to maximize program visibility.
• Cultivate institutional partnerships and manage multi-departmental committees for large-scale initiatives.
• Provide direct success coaching to designated students, particularly those from historically marginalized groups, to foster belonging and retention.
• Recruit, hire, train, and supervise student employees, providing regular feedback and goal tracking.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent professional experience).
• At least 2 years of related experience.
• Proven experience working with college students.
• High level of cultural humility and fluency, including awareness of issues regarding race and class.
• Strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with database administration.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field.
• Experience leading, supervising, or managing college students.
• Experience with student development programming or student retention and support programs in higher education.
• Knowledge of and ability to animate Gonzaga’s mission, vision, and values.
