About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations and communicate results for physician evaluation
- Select, set up, and operate sonographic equipment according to examination specifications
- Review patient clinical history and assist in positioning patients for scans
- Produce high-quality visual images of organs to obtain permanent medical records
- Maintain equipment through regular operator maintenance and report any failures
- Maintain accurate patient records and discuss scan results with radiologists
- Train and demonstrate ultrasound equipment operation to medical staff and students
Requirements
- Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
- Ability to obtain ARDMS registration within 6 months of hire
- Ability to obtain Abdomen and OB-GYN certification within 12 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications
- Active ARDMS certification in both Abdomen (ABD) and OB-GYN
- One year of experience in an inpatient hospital environment
- Strong foundational knowledge of human anatomy
