Ultrasound Technologist

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations and communicate results for physician evaluation
• Select, set up, and operate sonographic equipment according to examination specifications
• Review patient clinical history and assist in positioning patients for scans
• Produce high-quality visual images of organs to obtain permanent medical records
• Maintain equipment through regular operator maintenance and report any failures
• Maintain accurate patient records and discuss scan results with radiologists
• Train and demonstrate ultrasound equipment operation to medical staff and students

Requirements

• Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
• Ability to obtain ARDMS registration within 6 months of hire
• Ability to obtain Abdomen and OB-GYN certification within 12 months of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Active ARDMS certification in both Abdomen (ABD) and OB-GYN
• One year of experience in an inpatient hospital environment
• Strong foundational knowledge of human anatomy
