Ultrasound Technologist

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of ultrasound examinations including abdominal, pelvic, thyroid, and superficial soft tissue scans under the direction of a Radiologist
• Receive and complete requisitions and enter patient data into the diagnostic imaging information system
• Gather and verify patient history and relevant information prior to beginning scans
• Ensure all necessary documentation is accurately completed for each scan in accordance with regulatory guidelines
• Maintain current knowledge of PACS and ensure equipment is clean, organized, and safe
• Comply with all patient safety and confidentiality policies

Requirements

• Completion of a recognized post-diploma sonography program or equivalent
• Current Sonography Canada registration (CRGS) in good standing
• Previous experience as a general sonographer, specifically with transabdominal pelvic and abdominal scans
• Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with GE ultrasound equipment
• Knowledge of PACS systems
• CPR and WHMIS certifications
