Ultrasound Technologist

Responsibilities

• Perform abdominal, pelvic, and superficial soft tissue ultrasound examinations under radiologist direction
• Gather and verify patient history and relevant clinical information prior to scans
• Prepare patients for specific ultrasound procedures and answer preliminary questions
• Complete requisitions and enter patient data into the diagnostic imaging information system
• Maintain accurate documentation for each scan and follow quality assurance protocols
• Collaborate with supervising Radiologists to clarify imaging findings
• Coordinate with administrative staff to manage scheduling and patient flow
• Maintain ultrasound equipment and ensure a clean, organized, and safe workspace
• Comply with patient safety, confidentiality, and infection control policies

Requirements

• CMRITO registration in good standing
• Sonography Canada registration in good standing
• Completion of a recognized post-diploma sonography program
• Minimum 2 years of experience performing abdominal and pelvic ultrasound examinations
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• CPR and WHMIS certification(s)
• Prior experience with PACS, Esaote, and GE ultrasound equipment
