Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality ultrasound examinations, ensuring proper patient positioning and documentation
• Execute specialized ultrasound protocols including General, Breast, Vascular, OB/GYN, and MSK
• Perform daily quality checks of images to ensure they meet ACR and internal standards
• Assist in gathering data for ACR, DOH, and ARDMS accreditation renewals
• Serve as primary instructor for staff sonographers, providing real-time feedback and competency assessments
• Oversee patient flow to minimize wait times and optimize schedules
• Manage staff sonographers, including scheduling and timesheet approval
• Monitor equipment performance, perform routine calibrations, and coordinate repairs
• Manage medical supply inventory and ensure suite sanitation
• Act as local point of contact for Radiologists regarding urgent clinical findings
• Educate patients and families on procedures across all age populations
• Utilize Athena, RIS, and PACS for documentation and image processing

Requirements

• Active ARDMS certification
• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
• 5+ years of clinical experience
• Must meet all continuing education requirements for active certification
• High proficiency in planning schedules and managing department resources
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to make sound judgments in high-stress or emergency situations

Preferred Qualifications

• RVT certification
• Breast registry certification
