About the role
Responsibilities
- Conduct diagnostic imaging in accordance with Atria safety protocols, policies, and procedures
- Utilize proper patient positioning, equipment adjustment, and ergonomic scanning techniques to ensure patient comfort and safety
- Assume responsibility for patient safety during imaging and communicate effectively based on the patient's ability to understand
- Refer specific diagnostic, treatment, or prognosis questions to the appropriate physician or healthcare professional
- Act as a professional role model and technical expert for staff sonographers
Requirements
- Active ARDMS certification (required for ACR accreditation)
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
- 5+ years of clinical experience
- High proficiency in planning schedules and managing local department resources
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to make sound judgments during high-stress situations or emergency surges
Preferred Qualifications
- RVT and Breast registries
- Prior experience in a "Charge" or "Lead" capacity
