UAV Systems Engineer

Neros is a defense technology company rebuilding America’s drone industrial base. We design and manufacture high-performance unmanned systems that are tested in combat, iterated at startup speed, and built at massive scale.

Responsibilities

• Assembling FPV drone prototypes of various classes
• Installing and connecting electronic components: FC, ESC, GPS, VTX, RX, antennas, PDB
• Soldering, cable routing, and maintenance of connectors and power systems
• Configuring Betaflight and calibrating sensors
• Diagnosing overheating, vibrations, and failures; relaying technical feedback to engineers
• Repairing prototypes after test flights
• Documenting the assembly process including build notes and wiring diagrams
• Working with measuring instruments such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers
• Testing drones post-assembly, analyzing logs, and optimizing parameters
• Participating in the improvement of UAV design and configuration

Requirements

• 1+ year of hands-on experience with FPV or robotics
• Experience with Fusion360 or SolidWorks for 3D printing
• Experience building drones from scratch including soldering, assembly, and configuration
• Understanding and hands-on experience with control systems: ELRS, CRSF, SBUS
• Experience configuring and working with Betaflight, INAV, or ArduPilot

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with 3D printing and 3D printer maintenance
• SMD soldering experience
• Experience with video systems: Analog 5.8, DJI, Walksnail, or HDZero
• Understanding of VTX, antennas, RSSI/LQ, and RF interference
• Basic electronics knowledge: PDB, LiPo/Li-ion, BEC/step-down
• Understanding of STM32 (F4/F7/H7), UART/SPI/I2C/CAN
• Experience with Linux, Raspberry Pi, GStreamer, or OpenHD
• English proficiency at B2 level
• Piloting skills
