UAS Flight Test Engineer

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical testing of components for Drone as First Responder (DFR) systems
• Pilot drones and support logistics for flight operations
• Perform research and development to enhance DFR capabilities
• Ensure reliability and performance of drone systems
• Provide critical insights and improvements for technology through testing
• Generate reports based on long-term accrued testing data

Requirements

• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
• Experience with hardware integration, preferably into aircraft
• Familiarity with custom software via terminal interface
• Proficiency in Python for writing and modifying testing applications
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience in UAS, aviation, flight test, or hardware systems
• Ability to lift and transport equipment up to 55 lbs
• Ability to work outdoors over 70% of the time
• Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in UAS, aviation, flight test, or hardware systems
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
