About the role
Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and merge daily programming grids in Titan TV MediaStar Scheduler and reconcile them with the WideOrbit Traffic system.
- Manage broadcast operations, including program preemption notifications for children's programming and contingency planning for breaking news or severe weather.
- Coordinate with sales teams to resolve program timing discrepancies and maximize commercial inventory revenue.
- Update real-time schedules for broadcast PSIP, NextGen TV ESG data services, and digital program guides.
- Fulfill FCC Children’s Reporting requirements (E/I programming) and manage commercial certification.
- Track syndicated content rights and contract windows to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Audit historical programming logs and generate operational as-run templates for billing and regulatory archives.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in television programming, master control, or media traffic operations.
- Mandatory, hands-on proficiency with Titan TV MediaStar Scheduler and WideOrbit Traffic systems.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Solid understanding of FCC compliance requirements, including PSIP metadata and Children’s Reporting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel formulas and Outlook.
- Must reside in, or be willing to relocate to, an active TEGNA television market.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with TEGNA’s in-house tool, Pulse.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to cross-reference multiple software databases to correct scheduling errors.
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills for working in fast-paced environments.
